A little about the MJM Fund

Welcome to the Family

The MJM Fund was established in 2023 by the Melwid Family to celebrate the legacy and memory of Michael Melwid. Because of the Melwid family’s love of golf, they created an annual golf scramble to help fundraise for the MJM Fund. MJM Fund Golf Scrambles are a testament to the power of collective goodwill.

In 2023, a grant from the MJM Fund was made to benefit First Tee Indiana, a youth development organization that uses golf to build character and equip them for life’s challenges.

This year, donations made to the MJM Fund will benefit Monroe County Humane Association.

In loving memory of Michael

Michael attended Bloomington North High School, where he dedicated four years to the North Cougars football team. He was devoted to the game, leaving an indelible mark on his teammates and coaches. He then continued his education at Indiana University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from the prestigious Kelley School of Business.

Beyond academics, he immersed himself in the vibrant campus life, particularly shining as the President of the Student Athletic Board. In this role, Michael wholeheartedly supported and cheered for the Hoosiers, embodying the spirit and pride of IU's athletic community. His enthusiasm for sports extended beyond collegiate teams to his beloved Chicago Bears and Cubs, where he cheered with unwavering loyalty.

Yet, Michael's greatest devotion was to his family and friends. His wife and their sweet dogs held his heart, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Whether gathering with loved ones, enjoying concerts with friends, or bonding over golf with his brothers, Michael radiated warmth and joy. He was a pillar of strength and wisdom to his siblings and friends, always offering guidance and a listening ear.

Michael's role as a loving uncle to his two precious nieces brought him immense joy, and he cherished their laughter and milestones with tenderness.

A kind-hearted and compassionate soul, Michael's absence leaves a profound void in the lives of all who were privileged to know him. His memory lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched with his generous spirit and enduring love.

Forever remembered, forever missed.
